Psalm 3 - Abbot's Notes on the Whole Book of Psalms
Absalom's Rebellion The Third Psalm A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. 1 O Lord, how are my foes increased? against me many rise. 2 Many say of my soul, For him in God no succor lies. 3 Yet thou my shield and glory art, th' uplifter of mine head. 4 I cried, and, from his holy hill, the Lord me answer made. 5 I laid me down and slept; I waked; for God sustained me. 6 I will not fear though thousands ten set round against me be. 7 Arise, O Lord; save me, my Go

Infant Baptism - God's Ordinance, Objections of Anabaptists Answered.
Having set out his Arguments showing Infant Baptism as the ordinance of God's Master Harrison attends to answering the common objections of the Anabaptists. These objections and answers, taken from the sixth chapter of Infant Baptism God's Ordinance ,are now here presented to the reader. Editors Note: The original work has been updated, edited and reformatted by the writer and it is sincerely hoped that such revisions have not detracted from the intent or meaning. Objection 1

Infant Baptism - God's Ordinance, The Danger of the Doctrine of the Anabaptists.
The fifth chapter of Master Harrison's Infant Baptism moves to look at the outworking of the doctrine of the Anabaptists. The Chapter being entitled Showing that the Doctrine of the Anabaptists, in excluding Infants from Baptism, and shutting them out of the visible Church, makes all Infants to be of the visible Kingdom of Satan, and so leaves us no well-grounded hope of the salvation of any dying in infancy; and is therefore to be justly abhorred as false Doctrine. We have s

We now move to the Fourth Chapter of Master Harrison's Infant Baptism - God's Ordinance containing his Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth and Ninth Arguments for Infant Baptism. These being the final arguments presented. The next two articles in the series will deal with Master Harrison's responses to the objections of the Anabaptists and the danger of their doctrine. Infant Baptism God's Ordinance - The Second Argument
Our next article is drawn from the third chapter of Rev. Harrison's Infant baptism God's ordinance, or, Clear proof that all the children of believing parents are in the covenant of grace and have as much a right to baptism the now seal of the covenant, as the infant seed of the Jews had to circumcision, the then seal of the covenant. Here Master Harrison presents his second argument for the baptism of the Infants of believers under five heads. Editor's Note: Again the writer

Infant Baptism God's Ordinance - The First Argument.
After setting out five considerations to rightly understand the controversy of Infant Baptism Master Harrison proceeds to draw his first argument concerning the ownership of the seed of believers, fleshing his contention with the ground of scripture. 1 Cor 7:14 "...else were your children unclean; but now are they holy." Editor's Note: The First Argument is taken from the Second Chapter of Infant baptism God's ordinance, or, Clear proof that all the children of believing pare

Psalm 2 - Abbot's Notes on the Whole Book of Psalms
The Second Psalm Why rage the heathen? and vain things why do the people mind? Kings of the earth do set themselves, and princes are combined, to plot against the Lord, and his Anointed, saying thus, Let us asunder break their bands, and cast their cords from us. He that in heaven sits shall laugh; the Lord shall scorn them all. Then shall he speak to them in wrath, in rage he vex them shall. Yet, notwithstanding, I have him to be my King appointed; And over Zion, my holy hil

Psalm 1 - Abbot's Notes on the Whole Book of Psalms
The First Psalm That man hath perfect blessedness, who walketh not astray In counsel of ungodly men, nor stands in sinners' way, Nor sitteth in the scorner's chair: But placeth his delight Upon God's law, and meditates on his law day and night. He shall be like a tree that grows near planted by a river, Which in his season yields his fruit, and his leaf fadeth never: And all he doth shall prosper well The wicked are not so; But like they are unto the chaff, which wind drive
